My wife got me a Gold Cube 3-Stack Deluxe for Christmas. At first she said I couldn’t have it until Christmas Day, but after a couple of weeks of it sitting upstairs, wrapped and all, I couldn’t resist any longer; I had to think of a way to get it sooner. When one of her presents was slated to show up in the mail, one that I knew she wanted badly, my plan was set. I offered her that gift early in-trade and she accepted. Score!

Anyway, enough back story‚Ķ now I’d like to walk you through my first night using The Gold Cube, in this gallery (and a video at the end):

Setup of Gold Cube

Large Mixing Tub - You can pick this up at Home Depot, in the sand and concrete section. Grab some "All Purpose Sand" while you're there, to run through your Gold Cube, rumor has it there's gold in it!

Setting Up the Gold Cube

Scrubbed Vortex Matting - First step in the quick start guide says to wash each mat with a mild detergent to remove any manufacturing oils that may be present. I used a soft bristle kitchen brush and some foaming hand soap.

Setting Up the Gold Cube

Assembled Stand - I set it up to the maximum height, but in hindsight I'd recommend setting it to 3/4 or so.

Setting Up The Gold Cube

Here I've filled the tub with water and set the stand in it, with a dry, assembled Gold Cube on top. They clearly show the positioning of The Cube on the stand in the quick start guide. It's important that it's level, so pay close attention to that.

A back view of The Cube on it's stand. Notice in later photos that I've moved the stand a little further back in the pan.

Now I've got the stand moved further back in the tub, my battery is setup, and I've run a little "test water" through The Cube, which washed out the soap from above, hence the suds.

Running Gold Cube For The First Time

She's up and running! Shortly after this photo I ran through a 1/4 bucket of cons that I had already panned a few times and ended up with a fair amount of color after the cleanup, so I can clearly see the potential this product offers. This thing can seriously "eat" some dirt! A++

Lastly, a quick video of The Gold Cube up and running…
